Barbara Cordes along with Andy Kreyche and Jeff Perry gave a great presentation about light pollution and how it affects our environment.
Here is a link to a video explaining how light pollution affects our lives.

The DeAnza Care Team
What is CARE? CARE is Community Action Response Emergency team.
The CARE team consists of several of your neighbors that have volunteered to help in a major disaster. If we have an emergency, i.e. earthquake, tsunami or fire and our homes may get threatened or damaged, the team members will check to make sure you are safe or if you need assistance. The team members are not replacement for Fire or Police personnel. Fire or Police would be the primary disaster managers and coordinate any evacuations that may be necessary.
Pets:
If an emergency occurs and the resident is not at home and a pet is in the home, the CARE team will try to check on the pet. If an information sheet was filled out, the sheet will be provided to emergency personnel for access if an evacuation is required.
We as a community want to make sure, we can rely on each other and know that your neighbors are here for you if needed.
If you have not met your CARE Team member, look for your space number in the table below and find your team member.
We also highly recommend that you download and install the CruzAware app. This app will notify you when there is an emergency or potential emergency that may affect Santa Cruz. Click on the following link to down this app. You can then register, and you will receive notifications.
